Right brain activity

So I went to the local museum today to do some portraits studies with charcoal and I found that I used some of Orthodox techniques that I have not found on tutorials and art books. Which is the right brain activity. Sure, there is a book that talks about using art and the right brain but it does not necessarily go in depth with how to use the right brain.

So after 20 minutes of logical measurements and observations to get the broad gesture and emotions of the face, I began applying some methods that my professor, Mark Strickland was telling me about, which of applying emotion and music and rhythm into the canvas.
